Proper lawn mowing promotes healthy grass growth by encouraging root development and increasing lateral growth and tillering. Tillering leads to denser turf. Denser turfs help crowd out weeds, and disease prevention.
By entrusting your lawn care to experienced professionals, you free up valuable time that would otherwise be spent on tedious mowing tasks. We are committed to environmental sustainability in every aspect of our lawn care mowing practices. We prioritize using efficient, low-emission equipment that minimizes fuel consumption and reduces carbon footprint. Additionally, we employ eco-friendly mowing techniques such as mulching, which returns grass clippings to the lawn as natural fertilizer, promoting soil health and reducing the need for chemical fertilizers.

Proper mowing can stimulate tillering, leading to thicker, healthier grass. Tilling is the process by which grass plants produce new shoots or stems leading to the overall thickness and health of the lawn. Additionally, you can apply fertilizer to the lawn. Applying specific types of fertilizer based on your lawn type will provide your soil with the nutrients it needs to help stimulate healthy growth.
The best mowing height for your lawn depends on various factors, including the grass species, climate, soil type, and intended use of the lawn. We find that for most homeowners a height of 3.5-4.5" is ideal throughout the spring and summer to ensure a deep green-colored lawn. A 4" height ensures a wonderful contrast with mowing patterns. During the Fall, we typically cut a quarter inch shorter each week to prepare the lawn for cooler temperatures and winter, where a height of 2.5"-3.25" is desired.
Mowing the grass too short leads to scalping. Scalping occurs when too much of the grass blade is removed in a single mowing session. Scalping can damage the grass and expose the soil, leading to moisture loss and increased susceptibility to weeds and pests. This is why mowing at the right height is so important.
For lawns with fast-growing grass species, we may recommend more frequent mowing, such as weekly mowing to maintain an optimal height and prevent thatch buildup. Alternatively, for lawns in shaded areas that are prone to moss or fungal growth, we may adjust our mowing techniques to promote better air circulation and sunlight penetration, such as biweekly mowing visits.
Bagging of grass clippings depends on how long the grass was before servicing the lawn. If not too long, grass clippings are a natural fertilizer, as such, there is no need to bag the grass clippings. However, bagging services are provided as an additional service upon request.
