A spring start-up is essential for your Minnesota irrigation system because it ensures it is properly checked and prepared after the winter freeze. It involves inspecting for any damage from the cold, clearing out debris, testing components, and adjusting settings for optimal performance. This helps prevent costly irrigation repairs, ensures efficient water usage, and guarantees your irrigation system runs smoothly throughout the growing season. A spring start-up also improves the longevity of your irrigation system, reduces water waste, and ensures your lawn and garden receive the proper watering they need.
Winterization, or irrigation blowouts, is crucial for Minnesota homeowners to prevent costly damage to sprinkler systems caused by freezing temperatures. Without properly blowing out water from irrigation lines, pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads can crack or burst, leading to expensive repairs in the spring. Professional irrigation winterization ensures that all water is cleared from the system using high-pressure air, protecting components from freeze damage and extending the lifespan of the sprinkler system. Homeowners should schedule a blowout service before the first hard freeze to avoid potential water line breaks and inefficient lawn irrigation in the next season.
Brown areas in your lawn can be caused by improper irrigation, compacted soil, lawn diseases, or sprinkler system issues. Uneven watering from clogged sprinkler heads, low water pressure, or misaligned spray patterns can lead to dry spots. Additionally, poor soil drainage, grub infestations, or drought stress can weaken the grass, making it more susceptible to browning. Regular irrigation system maintenance, proper lawn aeration, and adjusting watering schedules based on seasonal needs can help restore a lush, green lawn. If brown patches persist, a professional irrigation inspection can identify and fix any underlying sprinkler system problems.
If you forgot to shut off your water before your scheduled irrigation winterization or blowout service, it’s important to reschedule as soon as possible to prevent freeze damage to your sprinkler system. However, please note that we have a strict cancellation and rescheduling policy. Due to our dense service routes, rescheduled visits will only be available at the end of the season—after all scheduled customers have been serviced—or outside our regular business hours. If our team must return outside normal hours or at the end of the season due to the water not being shut off, the service charge may be doubled.
